This year, 2026, is the 70th anniversary of the fair starting after the lightning hit the church, you can read more about the history here. There are commemorative T-towels to mark the occasion available on the Pilgrims Pottage Stall.

Drinks

- Quintessentially English, but not quite medieval!
- Hot drinks in the Evelyn Hall
- Tea, coffee & cream teas
- Sweet Stall
- Bottles of water.
Food
- Cake Stall
- Sweet and savoury treats. Eat some at the fair and take some home.
- Cream Teas
- Tea, coffee and cream teas served in the Evelyn Hall (next to the Abinger Hatch).
- Ice Creams
- Cool, tasty ice creams available to enjoy.
- Spit Roasted Lamb
- Grab your lamb early as this is really popular and usually runs out before the end of the fair.
- Sweet Stall
- Buy a bag of sweets at the fair, this year the sweet stall will also be selling crisps and bottles of water.

Stalls
- Books, CDs, DVDs and Puzzles
- You can find adult and children’s books at the stall. Browse the amazing collection of fiction and non-fiction books along with music, films and puzzles at the book stall.
- Bottle Tombola &
- The number of bottles on the bottle tombola is quite extraordinary – last year it was over 600 bottles. Sonia and her maidens collect donations from the village for you to try to win. Many bottle of alcohol to be won – so not suitable for little ones!
- Children’s Tombola
- The Children’s Tombola has items suitable for children.
- Children’s Corner, Face Painting
- While away the afternoon doing crafts or you can transform into a tiger or butterfly by having your face painted in the children’s tent.
- Pilgrims Pottage
- Here you will find Medieval themed souvenirs and costumes for sale. you can also find great ideas for Father’s Day.
- Abinger Fair Polo shirts are now available at Pilgrims Pottage
- 2026 is the 70th anniversary of the fair and to celebrate this T towels will be sold to remember the day.
- Plant Stall and garden related items.
- A wide range of annuals, periennials flowers, herbs and shrubs donated by our wonderful local gardeners.
- Rag, Tag and Bobtail
- See the amazing collection of jewellery, bags, scarves and gift sets. Something for everyone here
- Raffle
- The raffle prizes are all donated by local businesses so you get a chance to win some fantastic prizes.

- White Elephant
- Recycle and reuse at this stall. A great way to save both money and the planet. The white elephant stall promises to be brimming with wonderful pre-loved treasures.
Sideshows
- Medieval Stocks
- These are the villages old stocks. You can throw a wet sponge at the volunteer stuck in the stocks
- Coconut Shy
- How good is your throwing arm? You get to keep the coconut if you can knock it off its perch.
- Splat the Rat
- This stall is all about how quick your reaction times are….

- Toss the Sheaf
- Tossing the Sheaf has been one of the attractions since the Fair was revived in 1956. The record stands at over 8 metres, the height of 2 London buses and is held by local Danny Pearce who has mastered his technique over the years and won 9 years in a row from 2007 to 2015.
- In 2012 he was challenged by Fergus Dunn a Scottish international hockey player but after several thrilling rounds of sudden death, Danny held his title. In 2016 Danny was finally beaten in a thrilling sudden death play off by George Cruis, an England and British Lion rugby player, but Danny regained his crown the following year and has only been beaten once since.
